HTC Smart lands in India for $222

HTC Smart

HTC and Bharti Airtel have officially announced the HTC Smart, which reportedly “marks HTC’s strategic focus on India.” Based on Qualcomm’s Brew Mobile platform, the HTC Smart is a really affordable handset. The handset will become available in 30 major cities across India for a suggested retail price of Rs. 9,990 (about $222).
The HTC Smart offers a 2.8-inch QVGA display, a 3.2-megapixel camera, Sense UI, a microSD card slot, HTC Friendstream (integrating Facebook, Twitter and Flickr), an HTML browser, push email, an FM radio, a 3.5mm headset jack, 3G and runs on Qualcomm’s Brew Mobile platform.

The HTC Smart is reportedly “marks HTC’s strategic focus on India.” It is concerning with HTC’s plans to launch the HTC Smart in India with a $1 million marketing budget.
