Official Tumblr BlackBerry App Now Available

Tumblr is a pretty popular microblogging platform that many people use on the internet, and the good news is that you can now start using it on your BlackBerry.

With that being said, the official Tumblr application is now available for download and if you’re using the software you already know how easy it is to share anything, be it text, photos, links, music, etc.

RIM BlackBerry 'T' (Talladega?) slider launching next month

The first sliding BlackBerry, AKA Tallageda (or T), could be winging its way to shelves as soon as April.

Mobilephone-news has reported that the CEO of a RIM supplier mentioned the BlackBerry T as a device to launch next month.

The claim appeared on joins.com, a Korean website and was translated as:

"The Canadian company RIM famous for BlackBerry smartphones is releasing a new model next month. Known as the "T," The new model is an ambitious product aimed at competing against iPhone's storm of success. RIM will present it ("T") as its flagship model to compete in global markets such as the U.S. and Europe."

This could of course point to another Storm device, rather than the Palm-style slider that everyone is raving about.

There's no information on a precise release date for the BlackBerry Talladega or 'T', or whether it will be available in the UK any time soon.

Opera Mini for iPhone submitted to Apple for approval

Opera Mini for iPhone was officially submitted to the Apple iPhone App store today. A select few first saw it at Mobile World Congress 2010 in February. Now, the “fast like a rocket” browser is taking its first big step towards giving users a new way to browse on the iPhone.

Samsung i9000 Galaxy S Android Phone

So far up until now that is the most popular Samsung Android based handset you can lay your hands on has to be the i7500 Galaxy, which of course we know is a more than capable phone that seems to have now changed according to a report over at Android Phone News.

But now Samsung have announced something which could be argued as the most endowed, packed full of features Android device so far. Now we have the i9000 Galaxy S the latest and probably the greatest Samsung handset.

At first all we knew of the device was that it was expected to have a Super AMOLED screen and that of course it would run on Android. But now we know more the screen itself is a super AMOLED 800 x 480 screen which is 4 inches across which makes the Samsung i9000 Samsung’s biggest touchscreen phone.

Remember the Samsung Omnia HD that measured 3.7 inch. What’s more is that this screen features something else known as the mobile Digital Natural Imagine engine yes I know a bit of a mouthful otherwise known as mDNIe which apparently makes the images better on screen and this technology has been seen previously on Samsung LCD and also LED Televisions.

Samsung Galaxy S Pro with QWERTY Keyboard

Samsung’s Galaxy S, an Android 2.1 smartphone first unveiled at CTIA 2010. The Galaxy S getting the Pro version and it will sport a QWERTY keyboard. The keypad shown in the picture actually looks pretty good, but renders tell us nothing about how comfortable it is to use. Eldar Murtazin also manages to give us a June launch date, but pictures of this device are predictably not yet available.

According to the rumors on the matter, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S Pro will include about the same specifications as the already unveiled Android-based handset. The Samsung Galaxy S Pro should bring a 4 inch WVGA Super AMOLED touchscreen display, 1 GHz Cortex A8 processor. As the Samsung Galaxy S, it will have a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and video recording capabilities, as well as with Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n capabilities, USB v2.0, built-in A-GPS receiver, great multimedia features, 16GB / 8GB of internal memory, coupled with a memory card slot that supports memory cards of up to 32GB, a 1500 mAh battery, and the full range of sensors.

Nexus One Success Could Threaten Verizon

An interesting article over at feelandroid.com gives us something to think about in relation to the Nexus One and possible threat to Verizon.

We now all know that the Google Nexus One will not debut directly with Verizon and so therefore will not be available through the largest US carrier.

The question being asked though is will the Nexus One pose a threat to Verizon if it is successful, bearing in mind that is pretty much what the model is all about.

It is about liberating customers from the 2 year standard carrier contracts and give the option to pay upfront and be able to walk away at any point, so far Nokia have failed with the unsubsidised model and we are all used to paying a little up front for Smartphones and that is what Google is attempting to change.

HTC Hero Android 2.1 due Feb/March with Sense update

Great news recently reported over at 3g.co.uk in relation to the HTC Hero Smartphone.



It seems that HTC have now confirmed that the HTC Hero will be upgraded to the latest Android version which is 2.1, currently the device runs on version 1.6 of the Android OS but the upgrade will bring it right up to date.

What is surprising is that with the upgrade there is very little difference between the HTC Hero and the HTC Legend which is about to launch later on this month. When you take into consideration that the Hero has be3en available for a much longer period and is available on multiple networks it may well offer users better value than the Legend.

Those of you that are currently on Orange or T Mobile will be able to upgrade your Hero to Android 2.1 from April 16th those on 3 will need to wait until 22nd April. Android 2.1 will give the ability to have 5 different home screens and a quick contact which makes things easier t switch between contacts and social network contacts.
